HISTORY

Founded in the 1700's architecturally not much has changed since. Elegant vacation cottages from the 1930's still stand along the Pequannock River to this day just down the street a ways from the old schoolhouse and the town's original General Store and Post Office, all of which are featured on the town's historic walking tour further aided by the bronze plaques which the dot the brick paved sidewalks so warmly lit at night by antique street lights.

EDUCATION

Pequannock's public school system is one of the best in the nation, both for variety of course material as well as testing scores and college placement. In 2006, roughly 30% of high school students taking the HSPA's scored at an advanced proficient level. Pequannock Township schools also have rich sports, music, and art programs providing excellent learning opportunities for all young people no matter what their aspirations may be.
